Warriors fall in home golf match

STE. GENEVIEVE – Friday was a great day for spring sports. Unfortunately for the Valle Warriors golf squad, they had a frustrating time on their home course against Festus. Festus walked away with the win by the score of 168-176.

Valle’s Keith Basler was the medalist as he finished with a 39. Basler also had a birdie on the par 5 No. 2 hole. Brad Sexauer finished the day with a 45 while Kolby Armbruster and Mitchell Davis completed the course with a 46.

The Warriors (1-7) will have their hands full on Thursday when they travel to Farmington for a conference showdown.

Tennis

Potosi 9, De Soto 0

DE SOTO – The Potosi Trojans tennis team had a very solid meet at De Soto. Potosi shut out De Soto by the score of 9-0.

Potosi’s Chad Pashia, Wil Norviel, and Nathan Payne all won their singles match by the score of 8-0. Kurtis Davis came out on top 8-1 while John Haguewood emerged victorious 9-7. Shea Stark edged out a 9-8 victory with a tie-breaker of 8-6.

Pashia and Stark won their doubles match by the score of 8-0 while Norviel and Payne also emerged victorious by the same score. Haguewood and Davis rounded out the last doubles match by the score of 8-2.

The Trojans (3-3) will travel to North County for a conference match on Monday.
