Raiders finish a strong eighth at Mehlville Tournament

FARMINGTON – Mehlville High School hosted a 16-team golf tournament at Eagle Lake Golf Club in Farmington on Saturday. The North County Raiders faired well as the lone representative of the MAAA Conference in the event, placing eighth with a team score of 323.

The tournament was won by Parkway South with a winning total of 301, and CBC finished just two shots off the pace at 303 to take second. Eighty players in all took part in the meet.

North County was led by Brandon Smith, who fired the sixth-best individual round of the day with a one-over 73. Robert House posted a score of 80, while Jake Black finished with an 83. Dustin Gray completed the Raiders’ team total with an 87.

“Every other school in this tournament is much larger than we are,” said North County coach Jeff Lotz, “so I was very pleased with our effort on the day.”

North County will host Ste. Genevieve for a conference match at Terre Du Lac on Tuesday.
