Tigers, Knights come out on top in Tuesday tennis

IRONTON – The Potosi Trojans tennis squad visited the Arcadia Valley Tigers on Tuesday. Potosi came out ahead by the score of 5-2.

Arcadia Valley’s Mickey King defeated John Haguewood and Justin Holder took down Kurtis Davis both by the score of 8-6 for the Tigers’ only two wins of the day.

Potosi’s Chad Pashia won his singles match 8-5 over Chris Barton while Wil Norviel triumphed over Jordan Smith 9-8 with a tie-breaker of 7-5.

In doubles, Haguewood and Davis won their match over King and Barton while Norviel and Nathan Payne emerged victorious over Corey Hodzic and Thomas Lambert by the score of 8-6. Pashia and Shea Stark came out on top 8-5 over Holder and Smith.

Arcadia Valley (1-3) will host Potosi (4-4) again today.

Farmington 9, North County 0

BONNE TERRE – The Farmington Knights tennis squad had a solid day of action over the North County Raiders. Farmington swept North County 9-0.

Patrick Singer defeated Adam Carver while Brad Prasuhn took down Robert Lincoln both by the score of 8-1. Justin Arnold also won his singles match over Billy Nobles by the same score. Brad Green triumphed 8-3 over Ethan Wegleitner while Jared Treaster took down Tony Carver 8-4. Jordan Vilmer shut out Stephen Edgar 8-0.

Treaster and Prasuhn won their doubles match over Adam Carver and Wegleitner by the score of 9-7. Singer and Green came out on top over Tony Carver and Lincoln 8-5 while Arnold and Villmer triumphed over Nobles and Edgar by the same score.

North County will host Poplar Bluff on Monday. Farmington will host St. Pius today.
