Larry Anthony Prier

GREENWOOD – Larry Anthony “Tony” Prier, 41, of Greenwood, Mo., died Monday, March 28, 2005, at St. Luke’s Hospital of Kansas City.

Tony graduated from West County High School, Salutatorian: attended Mineral Area College; received his Bachelors Degree from SEMO; and Masters Degree in Statistics from MU.

Tony was employed by Abbott Pharmaceutical in Chicago for 10 years. Most recently, he worked at SAS Institute for 14 years as a Senior System Programmer.

Tony was an avid reader, loved gardening and flowers. He enjoyed cooking, and was a master with computer skills. He loved music and enjoyed singing.

Tony was a member of the American Kennel Club, bred and showed champion Chihuahuas and Chinese Crested.

Tony was preceded in death by brothers, Michael Prier and James Prier; maternal grandparents, Lovell and Marie Gillam; and paternal grandfather, Lewie Prier.

Tony is survived by his chosen life partner, Randall Benton of Greenwood, Mo.; parents, Larry and Margaret Prier of Leadwood, Mo.; sisters Laurie Hall and friend Shawn Eudy, of Farmington, Mo.; Gina Bowman and husband, Dan, of St. Petersburg, Fla.; brother, Dusty Prier and wife Debi, of Leadwood, Mo.; grandmother, Lillie Prier, of Park Hills, Mo.; aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, and many friends.

Memorial mass will be at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Sunday evening at 2 p.m., followed by a short reception in the church basement, Sunday April 24.
