School makes plans for overflow parking

BONNE TERRE – More than 200 North County seniors will participate in a graduation ceremony Sunday night.

Graduation will be held at 8 p.m. on the high school football field. In case of inclement weather, the commencement exercise will be held at the Mineral Area College Field House.

Student Council President Kyle Lotz, Senior Class President Ashlee Harris, valedictorians, Michael Hubbard and Brittany Hedgcorth, Principal Ron McCutchen and Superintendent Dr. Terry Gibbons will address the students during the ceremony.

There will also be a message from SSG John Crabtree, the assistant principal at the high school who is serving overseas.

Plans have been developed for overflow parking. Once the high school parking lot fills up, individuals should use the overflow parking lots located at the new Bonne Terre Elementary School on Hillcrest Drive, the old Bonne Terre Elementary School on Allen and then the administrative office, located at 300 Berry Road in Bonne Terre.

As each lot fills up, signs will be posted to proceed to the next parking lot. Those using overflow parking will be shuttled to and from the school. Shuttles will continue to repeat runs until all spectators are returned to their vehicles.

Administrators apologize for the inconvenience but say without on-street parking, this is the only solution to this once-a-year parking problem.
