Registration continues for MAC Summer Classes

PARK HILLS – Registration continues through June 3 for the eight-week summer semester at Mineral Area College.

Some classes offered involve only four weeks to complete. The first four-week session begins June 6, but a second four-week session – for which registration ends July 1, begins July 5.

“Our class schedule booklet does a pretty good job of spelling out all the different options you can take, in terms of classes,” said Linda Huffman, registrar. “These four-week classes are fairly intense, but really allow students the chance to snap up a few credits while leaving a large part of their summer free. They’re really a good idea.”

Returning students need to schedule an appointment to enroll between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and between 8 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. on Friday. New, transfer, and visiting students should contact the Admissions Office at 518-2228 and submit an application for admission.

The application fee is $15.

The final registration “window” for summer classes is 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. June 1, 2 and 3, and for fall classes it’s Aug. 17, 18 and 19, with the semester beginning Aug. 22.

Transfer and visiting students may also enroll during this period, provided all admission papers have been received. These students will receive registration information after admission papers have been received.

Students planning to enroll in English or math courses are required to undergo assessment testing. For a list of on- and off-campus testing dates and times, students should call 518-2202 or 518-2188.

Students planning to enroll for the summer and/or fall terms at MAC who have not submitted an application for admission should contact the Admissions Office at (573) 518-2228.

Outreach center summer classes at Fredericktown, Winona and Perryville begin June 6. Students interested in taking classes at one of MAC’s outreach centers may contact the main campus in Park Hills, (573) 431-4593, or contact the appropriate outreach center coordinator.

The summer and fall 2005 schedules are on the Web at www.mineralarea.edu.
