In a story in the Daily Journal May 28 about Staff Sgt. Trevor Spink Jr., his aunt, Cindi Lamers, was incorrectly identified as Cindi Thurman. The Daily Journal regrets the error.


It was reported in Wednesday’s edition of the Daily Journal that the St. Francois County Health Department would come and pick up dead birds for testing of the West Nile Virus. The county health department will not be picking up dead birds. If someone has a dead bird they need to contact the health department at (573) 431-1947. A determination will then be made if the bird needs to be brought to the health center for testing.

A cutline in Wednesday’s newspaper incorrectly spelled as Burke the last name of Country Days co-chairman David Buerck. The reporter apologizes for the error.

In Wednesday’s Daily Journal it was stated that Tyler Fenton hit a home run for the Caledonia Senators against the Leadwood Pirates. It was actually Craig Fenton who hit the home run.
