Passenger killed in one-car accident

A Fredericktown man was killed Friday morning in a one-car collision in Iron County on Missouri Highway 72.

Todd Reeves, 26, was a passenger in a car driven by Jeremy Edwards, 23, of Bismarck. The Missouri Highway Patrol reports Edwards was driving westbound on Highway 72 when his vehicle ran off the right side of the road and struck a parked car. Edwards’ car then rotated and hit a tree.

Reeves was pronounced dead at the scene by Iron County Coroner Tony Cole. Edwards was taken by helicopter to St. John’s Hospital in St. Louis.

The accident occurred just before 6 a.m. Friday, three miles east of Arcadia.

In a separate accident, four people were injured just after 2 a.m. Saturday in Washington County on Highway 21 at Juliette.

Highway Patrol reports indicate Lyndall Turnbull, 46, of Blackwell, was preparing to make a left turn on Highway 21. Police say Matthew Mattioli, 45, Potosi, failed to yield and struck the rear of another car driven by Alva Veach, 59, of Cadet. Her car then crashed into Turnbull’s.

All three drivers and Dolly Jenkins, 74, of Potosi, were treated for what were described as minor injuries.
