Taking a run for the money

DESLOGE – The Desloge Chamber of Commerce Seventh Annual Poker Run is set for Saturday. Sign-up for the event will be from 3-4 p.m. at Pavillion No. 4 in the Desloge City Park. The cost is $5 per hand with additional hands available. The top three hands will be awarded prizes.

The first stop of the run will be at the Dairy Queen in Ste. Genevieve. The second stop will be at the Festus White Castle and the third will be at the Brown Citgo in Potosi. All riders must be back at the Desloge City Park by 8 p.m. in order to get their last card.

“This is a great fund-raiser that the Desloge Chamber of Commerce is involved with,” said Jason Loughary, Desloge Chamber of Commerce Spokesperson. “It helps take care of some of the costs for the Labor Day Picnic as well as a number of charitable organizations we donate to throughout the year. We realize a lot of people in the Parkland have reached retirement age and have decided to buy a motorcycle. We would love to see all of you out at the park this Saturday.”
