Mary Myers

SULLIVAN – Mary F. Myers, 81, Sullivan, passed away Thursday, June 23, 2005.

Mary was born at Judsonia, Ark., on Jan. 10, 1924, to the late James W. and Nellie (Taylor) Jenkins. Being a preacher’s daughter, Mary lived in various places throughout the country. On January 8, 1942, she was married to William Myers and to this marriage two daughters were born. She was employed at St. Joe Lead Company in Bonne Terre for several years before moving to Sullivan where she worked at the former PACCO Company. When the company moved to Washington, Missouri, Mary stayed with the firm until her retirement. Mary was a devoted member of Grace United Methodist Church of Sullivan, United Methodist Women, Methodist Women Quilters, Sullivan Hospital Auxiliary, and member of the Board of Directors of the Sullivan Homes, Inc. Mary loved her grandchildren to a fault and was known for her family gatherings for Sunday dinner.

She is survived by two daughters, Lucky Cain of Cape Fair, Missouri and Annie Blankenship of Sullivan, two brothers, James and John Jenkins both of Bonne Terre, one sister, Martha McAllister of Richmond, Virginia, eight grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends. Along with her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband William in 2004.

Funeral services were conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 28, 2005,
