MABA 13 year old dominating so far at State

AURORA – The MABA 13-year-old All-Stars have scored 43 runs at the state tournament in their first two games to their opponents’ five in reaching the semi-final round of the championship bracket. A win in today’s 4 p.m. game with SEMO will put the All-Stars in Sunday’s championship game.

The All-Stars scored eight runs in the first inning of their first game on Thursday against the host team, and from there it was all Mineral Area as they won the game 29-3. The All-Stars used four pitchers in the game to help preserve the innings for each one for later games.

Big hitters in the game were Aaron Parker with two doubles and a single, Nate Maeys had two doubles, and Ethan Bullard hit a double and a single. Derek Emily and Tanner Beers had two singles each, and Jordan Pace and Cody Mahurin had one double apiece.

In Friday’s game against Boonville, the All-Stars jumped out to a strong lead on a 300-foot, two-run home run by Maeys. Maeys would also have a double in the game. Beers hit two singles and Ryan Calvird had a ground-rule double. Jake Smith, Parker, Mahurin, Pace and Pete Grindel had one single each.

Bullard was the winning pitcher for the All-Stars.
