Sixty dogs, 60 cats all looking for new homes
FARMINGTON – There’s plenty of dogs and cats at the Humane Society of the Ozarks that are looking for a good home.
Amber Gilliam said they have about 60 dogs and 60 cats. She said their shelter, which is a no-kill shelter, is always pretty full.
They even have a few kittens and a couple of cats who are about ready to have kittens.
There’s also five puppies that need to be adopted. One is a 7-week-old black Mountain Shepherd mix.
There are two heeler mixes – with the bigger ears, and two hound mixes, all female that are believed to be about 4 to 6 weeks old.
Gilliam said they have had the puppies about two weeks. Also, down the hall from the puppies is a 3-month-old male lab mix.
Gilliam said with the fans running, their electric bill has been high. The humane society would appreciate donations. Donations can be delivered to the shelter or to AmerenUE.
