Knightettes swept by strong Cape Central team
FARMINGTON – The Farmington Knightettes tennis squad went up against a very strong Cape Central Lady Tigers club Tuesday afternoon. Both teams play in the same district, and Cape Central gave Farmington an idea of what to expect later this season with a 9-0 shut-out win.
Cape’s No.1 doubles team defeated Ashtyn Miller and Sarah Barks 8-3 and the No. 2 team came out on top 8-2 over Stephanie Forsythe and Ashley Hammers. Cape triumphed 8-4 over Jesi Bayless and Alicia Murray in the last doubles match.
The wins kept coming for Cape Central in singles play. Cape won the No.1 and No. 4 matches 8-2 over Miller and Bayless respectively. The Lady Tigers emerged victorious in the No. 2 and 3 matches 8-1 over Barks and Monica Wolo in their respective match. Cape took home an 8-4 win in the No. 5 contest against Stephanie Forsythe and an 8-3 victory over Sidni Bloom to round out the singles play.
The Knightettes, now 0-2, will visit Potosi for a conference meet on Thursday.
