Marvin Wampler

FARMINGTON – Marvin Andrew Wampler of Farmington passed away on August 23, 2005, at Mineral Area Regional Medical Center, at the age of 62 years. He was born on May 22, 1943, in Delassus, the son of the late William Andrew and Bessie Mae (Abney) Wampler. He was also preceded in death by a son, Andrew “A.J.” Wampler, five brothers and three sisters.

Mr. Wampler worked as a Missouri State Park Ranger. He was a retired law enforcement officer and had worked for the St. Francois County Sheriff’s Department and other local police departments. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.

He is survived by his wife Pamela (Boyd) Wampler, three sons, Marcus (Jean) Wampler of Park Hills, Todd Wampler of Decatur, IL, and Eric (Penny) Wampler of Farmington, three brothers, Herb (Joyce) Wampler of Desloge, Jack (Donna) Wampler of Farmington, and Harry “Butch” (Joyce) Wampler of Park Hills, four sisters, Barbara (Mrs. Ed) Williford, and Shirley Vishino, all of Park Hills, Betty (Mrs. Frank) Phelps of Ste. Genevieve, and Wilma (Mrs. Larry) LaBrot of Desloge, ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many cherished friends also survive.

Friends may call at the Cozean Memorial Chapel from 5 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, August 25, 2005. Memorials may be directed to the family. Visit for photo and online condolences.
