JP’s Midwest Cub-a-Rama Show Update

Are you getting the Cub itch yet? Well, it is that tie of year again. You can start counting down the weeks to JP’s 4th Midwest Cub-a-Rama Tractor Show! 2005 show dates are September 22-24th (Thursday is set up day and Friday and Saturday are full show days). Show hours are Friday the 23rd from 8 a.m. — 5 p.m. and Saturday the 24th from 8 a.m. — 4 p.m.

For those of you who have not experienced a trip to Jaycee/Priest Parks in downtown Fredericktown on the last weekend of September have been missing out… The weekend is more than a park full of cub tractors. It is a chance to learn about and to view a line of American History!

The Farmall/International Cubs were not only the smallest tractors ever built by IH (International Harvester), but were also in production longer than any other tractor ever produced, for 33 years straight (from 1947-1979!) The Cub Cadet line is still going strong today, under the new owners of Cub Cadet Corporation. The Cub tractor had its appearance changed a few times in the 33 years they were produced, but the solid background and versatile use of the tractor never faded.

The popularity for these tractors is still high after all these years. Proof of that is easily seen by the owners of them at JP’s Midwest Cub-a-Rama. There are collectors, restorers and those that still use their Cub and Cub Cadets on an almost daily all over the world and many assemble right here in Fredericktown every year.

This September will mark the fourth year for this unique tractor show.

Added to this year’s show is a tractor pull for the Cub and Cub Cadet tractors. The pull is only for the Cub and Cub Cadets! There will be a simple pull type sled available on Saturday morning to all the Cub owners in attendance to hook up and see what the little 10-18 hsp. tractors will do. This is looking to be lots of fun.

We have not forgotten our usual attractions. You will still be able to view ALL the Cub tractors, which will be over 200 this year, and equipment that will be on display. The popular IH swap meet will be available. For those of you that have any extra IH item or Cub or Cub Cadet tractor that you would like to sell or trade, bring it on down to the show. There is no extra charge for the swap meet, it is included in your registration fee. Other plans for the weekend include: demonstrations, on site local concessions, plow field, adult tractor games, tractor parade, IH venders with new and used parts, as well as the opening of all the local Historic Sites for tours etc.

The show is organized by JP Tractor Salvage and co-sponsored this year with Cub Cadet Corporation. A registration form may be up at the office of JP Tractor (573-783-7055), obtained off of their website at or at the Fredericktown Chamber of Commerce. There is NO admission fee. Bring your whole family down for a good family fun-filled tractor weekend.
