MCBBL Baseball ends season

Another successful year in the Madison County Boys Basball League is now in the books.  It has been a very exciting season.

In the 12-15 year old division, Custom Signs took 1st place honors in a tightly contested battle with Jim Ward Construction who finished 2nd.  Klug Transportation finished 3rd and B&R Realty finished 4th.

In the 10-11 year old league, Liberty Tax Service held off City Glass to finish 1st.  It went down to the final game. City Glass finished 2nd, Community Health Care 3rd and Scherrer Grocery 4th.

The 7-9 year olds are the stars of tomorrow.  If you watched any of these games you know what I mean.  A lot of talent is in this age group.  Cherokee Pass Conoco was able to hold off the Dumplin Pot to finish 1st., followed by the Dumplin Pot, Toppins Saw Mill, Wilson Funeral Home, Black River Electric and Children of Haiti.

Four teams competed in the 5-6 year old league.  Roberts Lawn Care, Heartland Auto Repair, Faith Foundation Children’s Home and Modern Day Vets.  This league is the most fun to watch.  The kids have a great time and the coaches are all pulling their hair out!

All the businesses who sponsored a team this year, and all the coaches who gave their valuable time and dedication deserve recognition. None of the league’s success would be possible without all of our advertising sponsors who purchased signs displayed on the outfield fence all season. This allows us to continually improve our league with items like a new score board controller, pitching machine and new equipment. They are: Barrett-Jensen Chevrolet, B&R Realty, Liberty Tax Service, Follis and Son Funeral Home, Ellis Battery, Seabaugh Furniture, Country Mart, Sargent Construction, Accord Electric, Dairy Bar, Pense Bros., Madison County Oil, Wilson Funeral Home, and Black River Electric.
