Friday Club

The Friday Club of Fredericktown held its first meeting of 2005-2006 in the home of Karen Fulton for brunch. The meeting was called to order by the president, Nancy Basden. Kitten Ivy had the devotional “Mole Hills Become Mountains.” So much of the time, life is what we make it. Frances Branum said the blessing for our meal. Hostesses were Karen Fulton, Betty Schmale, and JoAnn Banks. The tables were decorated in beautiful fall colors and we were served delicious quiche, homemade sausage bread, cinnamon rolls and fresh fruit salad. The drinks were raspberry tea, coffee or water. Served to the following members Nancy Basden, Frances Branum, Mary Brotherton, Conita Follis, Ilerea Hamilton, Mary Head, Mary Hensen, Linda Hogan, Dorothy Huskey, Kitten Ivy, Carolyn Kegley, Virginia Kinder, Marilyn McFarland, Margaret Miller, Radha Rao, Sue Skaggs, Janet Ward and a special guest, Andy Grace, daughter of Jean Roed.

We voted to send a donation to the Hurricane Relief Fund. This is the 52nd year of “Missouri Girls Town” which we send a donation to each year.

We discussed who would be responsible for the upcoming “100 years celebration” that is planned for Saturday, November the 12, 2005, at the Fredericktown United Methodist church from 2-4 p.m. Public invited.

Margaret Miller was elected our delegate to the Ninth District meeting. The theme is “A Stronger District through Communication and Involvement.” The program “Adventures in Korea,” was delightfully done by Karen Fulton. She showed a video of their trip (I think they ate or bargained at the market most of the time); they got some real bargains and lots of gifts from their hostesses.

See you October 21 at 1:30 at Black River.
