Lady Tigers remain undefeated in conference standings

IRONTON – The Arcadia Valley Lady Tigers has had a successful season so far. They improved to 13-4-1 and 4-0 in conference play with a Thursday win over the Valley Lady Vikings. Arcadia Valley stayed focused and defended their floor with a 25-13, 25-10 victory.

Megan Reichert led the Lady Tigers in kills with five and Leah Williams and Kassie Walker both tied with four each. Kylie Stocum and Sara Wadlow had assists of seven and six respectively. Williams served up nine points and Wadlow and Megan Tripp both recorded seven.

Valley’s Rhyen Campbell scored six points and made three aces. Kayla Keenan had two digs and kills and Lindsey Evans contributed a pair of digs. Sarah Kearns finished with an assist and an ace.

Arcadia Valley will host Clearwater today. The Lady Vikings (2-7 and 1-3 MAAA) will travel to Lesterville on Monday.

Bismarck 2, Kingston 0

CADET – After a thrilling win over Valle on Tuesday, the Bismarck Lady Indians volleyball squad added another conference victory. The Lady Indians dominated the Kingston Lady Cougars in two games 25-12 and 25-7.

Miranda Politte led the Lady Cougars in kills with 11 and Colleen Politte chipped in three. Alisha Aubuchon had nine digs and Reba Colony added five. Miranda Politte also served an ace.

Chelsey Politte recorded seven kills for the Lady Indians and Lacey McCaulla closely followed with six. Andrea Mecey and Kelly Williams both had seven service points. Williams also finished with 11 assists and Stephanie Politte blocked three shots.

Kingston (0-7, 0-5 MAAA) will travel to Potosi on Monday. Bismarck (14-5 and 3-1 in conference) will pay a visit to Valley for another conference challenge on Tuesday.

St. Francois Borgia 2, Farmington 0

FARMINGTON – A massive crowd was present in Farmington’s gym when the Knightettes hosted the defending 3A state champs St. Francois Borgia. Farmington only committed two blocks in the entire match as St. Francois Borgia took full advantage with a 25-19, 26-24 win.

Megan Bess pounded down 11 kills for the Knightettes and Sydney Winslow contributed seven. Becky Weaver and Brenna Noble had assists of 10 and nine respectively. Briley Milfeld came up with six digs and Elizabeth Harris had Farmington’s only two blocks.

The Knightettes (13-2) will have a lengthy road trip on Saturday when they visit Rockbridge at 2 p.m.

Ste. Genevieve 2, Saxony Lutheran 0

STE. GENEVIEVE – The Ste. Genevieve Hunters volleyball team came out ready to go against Saxony Lutheran on Thursday. The Hunters played at a high energy level and that translated to a crushing 25-6, 25-7 victory.

Ste. Genevieve’s Lindsay Rhodes racked up 22 service points and three aces and Kaley Meyer chipped in six points. Rhodes pounded down six kills and Dana Giesler added a pair. Emily Schmelzle had six assists for the Hunters.

Ste. Genevieve (8-5-3) will travel to Herculaneum on Monday.

Valle 2, West County 0

STE. GENEVIEVE – The Valle Lady Warriors struggled against Bismarck on Tuesday, but Valle got back on the winning track when they hosted the West County Lady Bulldogs on Thursday. Valle managed to stay one step ahead of West County as the Lady Warriors triumphed in two games 25-16 and 25-18.

Valle’s Erin Bruns and Carla Stoll both scored seven points. Lindsey Huck led the team in aces with three and Bruns and Danielle Donze both trailed with two each. Katie Bergtholdt pounded out five kills and Stoll added four. Donze and Angie Abt both tied in digs with three each and Stoll piled up 12 assists.

Melissa Myers and Lynsie Masters led the Lady Bulldogs in points with eight each and Lauren Lynch contributed seven. Emily Rasnick dished out six kills and Andrea Blair had that same amount in digs. Myers made eight assists and Masters ended the night with seven digs.

The Lady Warriors (9-6-1 and 4-1 small-school MAAA) will travel to St. Vincent on Monday. West County (4-5, 1-3 in conference play) will host Central the same day.
