Four Paws for a cure returns

FARMINGTON – Children and their canine companions will be gathering at 1 p.m. on Saturday at the ‘7 Days a Week Furniture Outlet’ in Farmington to walk on behalf of children with cancer, survivors, or to memorialize those who have passed away. Donations will be used to help fund childhood cancer research.

“4 Paws For a Cure” is a joint-venture between Mineral Area Regional Medical Center and ‘7 Days a Week Furniture Outlet.’ Anyone can participate. It is not necessary to have a dog. The theme for the event comes from the fact that many children seek comfort in the love of a pet during times of stress and sickness.

Participants can collect donations from friends and family and bring them to the event. Food and prizes will be given to dogs and owners.

There will be contests and prizes for the top dog money collector, the dog owner look-alike, the best dog trick, the largest dog, the smallest dog and the best dressed dog.

To receive a walker’s packet contact Kirk Gallagher at ‘7 Days a Week Furniture Outlet’ or call Willa Dean Meyer at (573) 756-6118.
