Bonne Terre police capture suspects in vehicle break-ins

BONNE TERRE – The Bonne Terre Police Department has caught the three people they believe are responsible for a recent string of vehicle break-ins.

Police Chief Doug Calvert said his two newest officers, Danny Russell and Lucas Kozloski, were patrolling the city early Monday morning and noticed three males walking down East School Street.

The officers approached the males to see what they were doing and they took off running. One of the men was caught on Middle Street while another was found on Mound Street. The third was found at his residence.

Calvert said the men admitted to four or five burglaries of unlocked vehicles in the city. He said there may have been more.

The suspects, ages 17, 19 and 25, will be charged through the city but the one who was on probation for burglary may face charges through the state.

Calvert said he encourages everyone to lock their vehicles, residences and other belongings.
