Bonne Terre man charged with robbery

BONNE TERRE – A Bonne Terre man was arrested Monday night after attempting to rob RBs Liquor store in Bonne Terre.

Patrick Stephen O’Hanlon, 47, has been charged with second-degree robbery.

According to Bonne Terre Police reports, the store clerk hit the hold-up alarm after a man came in, put two trash bags on the counter and demanded money.

The clerk told officers he placed his hand inside his coat pocket, indicating he had a weapon. When the clerk did not hand over any money, the man left.

The man was still in the area when Officers James Crump and Danny Russell were dispatched to the hold-up alarm at the store. One of the officers confronted the man, who had dropped a trash bag on the ground while walking away and appeared to be intoxicated.

The officer arrested O’Hanlon after he was identified as the one who tried to rob the store. The officer found another trash bag in his coat pocket but no weapon was recovered.
