Tours at the Capitol made easy

If you’re taking a group to tour the State Capitol this year, you may find making reservations is a little more convenient than it has been. A new tour reservation system is now accessible online at that will allow reservations to be made around the clock.

Reservations can still be made by calling the Missouri State Museum weekdays at 573-751-2854, but now they can also be made at the Web site which allows visitors to check available dates and times for a guided tour even when the museum office is closed.

Reservations are required only for groups of 10 or more.

Tours are conducted hourly by the Department of Natural Resources Monday through Saturday. Tours begin at 8 a.m. and continue through 4 p.m.

Tours are not given at the lunch hour. On Sunday, tours are conducted at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. The Capitol is closed on New Years Day, Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.

Tours of the Governor’s Mansion, the Supreme Court and the Runge Nature Center are not handled by the Missouri State Museum and are not included in the program.

Tours for those may be arranged by calling the Governor’s Mansion at 573-751-7929, Supreme Court at 573-751-4144 and Runge Nature Center at 573-526-5544.
