Clara Kennedy

ST. PAUL MINNESOTA – Clara Hattie (nee Johnson) Kennedy was born on August 7, 1918 in Valles Mines, Missouri to the late George and Maggie (Ransom) Johnson. She was the youngest of six siblings. At a young age her family moved to Bonne Terre, MO.

Clara became a member of Brown Chapel A. M. E. Church and attended Attucks Grade School in Bonne Terre, MO. In later years she was united in marriage to Orville Kennedy. To this union two children were born, William (Antoinette, Ann) Kennedy of St. Paul, MN and Pamela (Joel) York of Chandler, AZ.

In 1978 she moved to St. Paul, MN and attended Pilgrim Baptist Church and had several employers, the last being The West 7th Street Community Center.

This Child of God loved life, friends and was an avid bowler.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Orville Kennedy, her parents and four siblings; Palmer Johnson, Charles Johnson, Olin Johnson and Roy Johnson. One sister survives, Dolline Alexander of Festus, MO.

Clara is also survived by five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many many friends.

Memorial Service will be held Saturday, December 17, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. at Mueller-Bies Mortuary, 2130 North Dale, St. Paul, Minnesota.
