By the way…

Did you hear on the news lately about the couple who converted from their old selves to become new creatures in Christ Jesus (II Cor. 5:17 Gal. 6:15)? I believe they were from Dexter. Anyway, when they looked at their former situation with their new eyes, they saw they had $6,500.00 worth of &#8220adult entertainment” stock, which their new hearts knew was not fit to sell. So they cleaned out their store and had a huge bonfire. The Bible says, &#8220Put off the old man, which is corrupt (No, this does not refer to your husband, it means YOU), and be renewed in the spirit of your mind (Eph. 4:22-23). Isn’t it true that not only do we have to clean out our store, but we always have to be careful that junk doesn’t get carried in again?

Sunday morning Bro. Carl was singing that song &#8220How did you feel when you came out of the wilderness, walking and talking with the Lord?” I remember feeling relief, that a great load had been lifted from me. And now I feel secure and so grateful because I know if darkness catches me unaware and I veer from the path, God will be there to help me get back on. This is what it means to celebrate Jesus, for we owe everything to Him. No matter what has transpired before, a person can come out of the wilderness, clean as a newborn baby, and start over as a new person. You can still do it this year, this day, this very minute. Talk about a gift, this is truly the ultimate!

Sunday afternoon, Peggy Littrell from Heber Springs, AR, and her fiancé, Brad Parker, drove over from Cape where they had attended the graduation of Peggy’s grandson. This was our first tie to meet Brad, but he won the seal of approval right away.

At this time, I want to say congratulations to Peggy and Brad, and I wish a Merry Christmas to all!
