Belgrade State Bank celebrates 100 years of service in 2006

The year 2006 will mark a real milestone for Belgrade State Bank – 100 years of service, beginning in Washington, and later into St. Francois counties.

Chairman of the Board, Harold Turner, speaks with pride regarding the early beginnings of Belgrade State Bank in the small town in Washington County.

A tradition of outstanding service and financial support has been a hallmark of Belgrade State Bank since a group of forward-looking citizens organized in the small farming community in 1906. Mr. John G. Walton, grandfather of the current Chairman of the Board, was among these citizens.

Turner said, &#8220When the bank opened in 1906, the total assets were $10,000. Today, with the support and loyalty of great customers and over 70 employees, we have grown to over $136 million in assets. All of us here at Belgrade State Bank look forward to another 100 years of quality service.”
