Lady Raiders hang tough with Festus, come up short in the end
FESTUS – The North County Lady Raiders kept up with Festus during Monday’s contest. It was a back-and-forth battle between the two teams, but Festus eventually built a 12-point lead with two minutes left in the game. The Lady Raiders continued to fight their way back, but Festus held on for a 58-51 win.
North County’s Haley Motley led the team with 14 points, and Carissa Wood and Megan Hedgcorth both contributed 12. Amber Hahn had 20 points for Festus, and Brittany Borman added 18. The Lady Raiders went 17-35 from the free-throw line.
North County (6-18) will visit Bismarck on Thursday.

Arcadia Valley 61, Central 56
IRONTON – The Arcadia Valley Lady Tigers and the Central Lady Rebels split their last two meetings this season. On Monday, the Lady Tigers took the lead in the series and avenged a loss to Central during the Christmas tournament. Arcadia Valley triumphed 61-56.
Kassie Walker led the Lady Tigers in scoring with 26 points, and Leah Williams and Janeice Herron both added eight. Central’s Kristin Gunder led all scorers with an incredible 31 points, and Amber Kennedy contributed 13 with three shots from three-point range.
Arcadia Valley, now 16-7, will host Fredericktown on Thursday. The Lady Rebels (13-11) will be home against Sullivan the same day.

CRYSTAL CITY – The West County Lady Bulldogs trailed Crystal City 10-8 after the first quarter, but the second half belonged to the home team. Crystal City knocked down six three pointers in the second half to pull away with a 58-44 victory.
West County’s Lauren Lynch recorded a team-high 10 points. Courtney Boen and Kara Harrison added nine and eight points respectively.
The Lady Bulldogs (8-12) will play a conference make-up game at Valle on Wednesday.

St. Pius 70, Ste. Genevieve 59
STE. GENEVIEVE – The Ste. Genevieve Dragons continuously struggled after the Christmas break, and the Dragons struggled again on Monday. This time, it was against St. Pius. St. Pius held a 33-24 lead at the half, and eventually traveled back home with a 70-59 win.
Ste. Genevieve’s Garrett Ditch posted a game-high 19 points, and Eric Schrader added 16. Tyler Burke and Drew Horn both had 14 points for St. Pius.
The Dragons (13-10) will host Festus on Friday.

PERRYVILLE – The Fredericktown Blackcats picked up an 18-9 advantage at the first quarter against St. Vincent and never looked back. The Blackcats led 42-34 at the end of the third quarter and finished with a 60-46 win.
Mike Francis led Fredericktown in scoring with 21 points. Dustin Bess and Eli Skaggs both added 10 for the Blackcats.
Fredericktown, now 15-10, will travel to Valle on Friday.
