Motorcycle accidents injure two
Two men were injured in accidents Friday night and Saturday morning when their motorcycles ran off the road.
According to Missouri Highway Patrol reports, the first accident occurred at 6:20 p.m. Friday on Route K, .4 miles east of Coplin Road. Lance Smith, 36, of Farmington, was eastbound when his 2006 Suzuki Boulevard failed to negotiate a curve. The motorcycle ran off the road and struck a ditch.
Smith suffered moderate injuries and was taken by St. Francois County Ambulance to Parkland Health Center. The motorcycle was listed as having extensive damage and was retrieved by a tow company.
The second motorcycle accident occurred at 9:40 a.m. Saturday. Kent Chancellor, 47, of Eureka, was southbound on Route T, one mile north of Missouri 185, when his 2006 Harley Davidson went off the west side of the road and struck a tree, according to the reports.
Air Evac flew Chancellor, whose injuries were listed as serious, to Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. Damage to the motorcycle was listed as extensive, and it was retrieved by a tow company.
