Summer Band Camp in Farmington

The Farmington High School Black Knight Marching Band will hold its annual summer marching band camp from July 24 – Aug. 5 at Farmington High School.

All members should report to the school at 8 a.m. each day with their instrument and equipment. Students should wear clothes suitable for working out and be prepared for rehearsing outdoors. Drink plenty of water the night before, Band Director Kurt Bauche advises.

The Black Knight Band perform for all of the Varsity Knights home football games this fall. The band also will attend a number of local and regional competitions, including the ninth annual Farmington Marching Invitational. That event, hosted by the Farmington Band Boosters, will take place on Saturday, Sept. 23.

This year’s drum majors for the marching band are juniors Lauren Lee and Claire Minnis. Section leaders are Marissa Sifford, Amanda Callahan, Alicia Shipman, Whitney Watson, Ashley Berry, Katie Grechus, Aaron Roberts, Harry Ward, Krislyn O’Sullivan, Kirsten Patterson, and Sarah Thompson.

The percussion instructor is Ron Farrow. Directors for the Black Knight Band are Kurt Bauche and Linda Huck. For more information about the marching band or summer camp, please call the band office at 701-1316 ext. 129.
