Farmington wins in two while Small-School teams match up

Farmington 2, Francis Howell North 0

FARMINGTON – The Farmington Knightettes got back on track on Tuesday with a 25-18, 25-23 win over Francis Howell North.

&#8220We played very aggressively tonight,” said Farmington coach Becky Noble, &#8220which allowed us to take charge of the game.”

Molly Barnes was like a wall at the net with 10 blocks for the Knightettes. Sydney Winslow had another good night with 12 kills, six digs and 12 good serve receives. Megan Bess made six digs and Briley Milfeld and Ashley Jenson had nine assists each.

Farmington, 7-9, will host Borgia on Thursday.

Viburnum 2, North County 1

BONNE TERRE – The North County volleyball team played its second three-game contest in as many days on Tuesday night, but saw a two-match winning streak end with a 22-25, 25-18, 25-16 home loss to Viburnum.

Junior Haley Motley posted strong all-around numbers with 11 kills, 11 digs, three blocks and six points. Kassi Hovis served 11 points and made nine assists, while Britney Hodgkins dished out seven assists. Jessica Pinkston added five kills for the Lady Raiders.

North County (4-8) will play Poplar Bluff on Thursday.

Woodland 2, Fredericktown 1

FREDERICKTOWN – The Fredericktown Lady Cats were crushed by a two-point overtime loss to Woodland, but they bounced back in game two to push it to three games before falling to the visitors 28-26, 20-25, 25-16.

&#8220We had 13 serve-receive errors tonight,” said Fredericktown coach April Newell, &#8220and that will hurt you every time.”

Lauren Henderson had a superb net game with nine kills and two blocks for the Lady Cats, and Nicki Settlemoir had eight kills with Allison McDowell making 23 assists.

Fredericktown, 4-11-2, will play next at Perryville on Monday.

Arcadia Valley 2, West County 1

IRONTON – The Arcadia Valley Lady Tigers overcame a bevy of unforced errors, including 10 missed serves on Tuesday night to get past visiting West County 25-15, 21-25, 25-14.

Leah Williams was perfect from the service line with 17 points in the victory. Kassie Walker collected 11 kills and 11 digs, while Megan Reichert chipped in with nine kills. Kinsley Stocum shared the Arcadia Valley team lead with 11 digs, and dished out an impressive 20 assists.

Serving leaders for West County were Kayla Siegel with 13 points and Becca Appel with 10. Lauren Lynch was the top attacker with five kills and Kara Harrison added three, while Ashlee Roney brought up four digs.

Arcadia Valley (9-4-2) will battle Valley on Thursday before traveling to Clearwater on Friday. West County (5-3) will host Valle on Thursday.

Valley 2, Kingston 0

CADET – Rhyen Campbell led all servers with 13 points for the Valley Lady Vikings as hey defeated the Kingston Lady Cougars in a conference match on Tuesday, 25-17, 25-20.

Rebecca Neier and Kayla Keenan had three kills each, with Neier serving three aces in the game and Keenan making three good digs. Tiffany Martin set up four assists.

Valley will host Arcadia Valley on Thursday, and Kingston will be at Bismarck.
