Beatrice A. Jackson
FESTUS – Beatrice A. Jackson, 77, of Festus, passed away Sunday, November 5, 2006, at Riverview at the Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Ste. Genevieve. she was born January 12, 1929, at Overland.
She was a member of the Sacred Heart Church in Crystal City and a member of Royal Neighbors of America. She worked as a seamstress for Co-Ed Garment Factory in Festus; was a nurses aid at Jefferson Memorial Hospital; an arranger for Fults Florist; a cook in the R-7 School District; and worked in the bakery for the Festus Kroeger and also baked out of her home.
She was preceded in death by: Husband, Robert L. Jackson; parents, Lawrence and Thecla (nee Piotrowski) Gerber; daughter Thecla Jackson in infancy; sister, Dorothy Merritt; and brother, Arnold Gerber.
She is survived by: Daughters, Rebecca (William) Drury of Festus and Barbara (Leonard) Price of Ironton; son, Robert L. (Lydia) Jackson of Festus; sister, Virginia Gerber of Florissant; dear friend, Edna McClenahan; eight grandchildren: Christopher (Christy) Drury; Stephanie (Jeff) Davis, Ryan (Christy) Drury, Jennifer (Scott) Ruble, Timothy Drury, Robby Summers, Tony (Cindy) Summers, Tracey Jackson; great-grandchildren, Kelly Gill, Christopher Drury, Cheyenne Drury, Chloe Drury and Rebecca Ruble.
Visitation will be 4 – 8 p.m., Tuesday, November 7, 2006, at Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus. Services will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, November 8, 2006, at Vinyard Funeral Home with Rev. Pete Ruble officiating. Interment at Danby Cemetery, Festus. Memorials may be directed to the American Parkinsons Disease Assn. or the American Diabetes Assn.
