Melba Lee Walker
MARSHALL – Melba Lee Walker, age 77, passed away on November 27, 2006 at The Living Center in Marshall, MO. She was born February 18, 1929 in Ellington, MO to the late Claude and Effie (nee Vance) Walker. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Wendell Walker; infant sister, Joy Jean Walker; nephew-in-law, Donald Orr; and great-niece, Deanna Walker.
Melba is survived by one brother, Wilmer (Edith) Walker of Farmington, MO; one niece, Claudette (Bill) Bryant of Desloge, MO; two nephews, Gary (Connie) Walker of Ste. Genevieve, MO; and Dennis (Sharon) Walker of Lesterville, MO.
She is also survived by one great-niece, Jennifer (Nick) French of Brazil, IN; three great-nephews, Shawn (Jennifer) Walker of Colorado Springs, CO; Travis (Julie) Walker of Farmington, MO; and Nicholas Walker of Colorado Springs, CO; and two great-great nephews, Aiden and Logan Walker.
Melba was a member of the Church of Christ in Marshall. She received great enjoyment knitting, doing embroidery work, and giving the finished projects to others.
Visitation for Melba Walker will be from 12-1 p.m. on Saturday, December 2, 2006 at Sweeney-Reser-Wills Funeral Home in Marshall. The funeral will follow at 1 p.m. with burial at Memorial Sunset Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
