Both drivers air evac’d in local accident

The Missouri Highway Patrol reported a two vehicle accident had occurred on December 13, 2006 on Highway OO, three miles north of Fredericktown.

According to the report, Juan Cruz, 24, of Desoto was driving a 1994 Chevrolet southbound when the vehicle ran off the right side of the road Cruz then overcorrected and ran across the centerline and struck head-on, a 2002 Ford traveling northbound driven by Carson Burks, 20, of Fredericktown.

Both Burks and Cruz suffered serious injuries according to the report and were flown by Air-Evac to Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.

Both vehicles were totally damaged and removed by D&D Wrecker Service.
