Rev. Elbert Mason

IRONDALE – Rev. Elbert J. Mason, 69, Irondale, died Jan. 12, 2007 at Parkland Health Center in Farmington. He was born Feb. 27, 1937, at Kennett to the late Floyd E. and Ruth Wagster Mason. Preceded in death by sister, Carol and brothers: Jerald, Don, LeRoy and Eugene.

He was senior pastor of the Irondale Assembly of God Church. He served in the ministry for over 50 years and as an ordained minister with the Assembly of God churches for 47 years.

He is survived by his wife, Mary F. Roberts Mason, Irondale; daughters: Pamela, Mrs. Robert Tune, Houston, Kimberly Mrs. Jeffrey Gowen, Collinsville, Ill; grandchildren: Miranda, Mrs. Jason Colgan, Bobbi, Mrs. Brad Dyer, Brandon Tune and wife Erin, Rebecca Tune, Derek Gowen and wife Beth, Chandler Gowen, Danielle Gowen and Preston Gowen; great-grandchildren: Auston, Zach, Madyson, Korbyn; sisters: Vada Eaton, Sikeston, Barbara Montgomery, Dexter; brothers: Bill Mason, Advance, T.J. Mason, Lake Wells, Fla. In addition there are numerous nieces and a multitude of friends.

Visitation 3 p.m. Monday, January 15, 2007, at the C. Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge. Services 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Boyer Chapel with Rev. Jerry Cuneio, Rev. Dwight Jones and Rev. Jeffery Gowen officiating. Interment in Sunset Memorial, Potosi. Memorials to Irondale Assembly of God Church.
