Man who attacked agent may have local ties

PARK HILLS – A man who posed as a home buyer and according to police sexually assaulted a real estate agent in St. Charles County may have ties to St. Francois County. The St. Charles County Sheriff’s Department has labeled Matthew L. Wilson, 48, Bloomsdale, as a person of interest. Wilson also goes by Mathew Dulin and Jerry E. Wilson.

According to the Park Hills Police Department, Wilson stole a 1995 medium blue Ford Contour with the license plate number 1AW95M on March 2 from Rosener’s Inn and Restaurant.

&#8220A woman said Wilson and she were staying at the motel and he borrowed the vehicle on March 1,” said Detective Mike Kurtz. &#8220He never brought the vehicle back.”

Sergeant Randy Tate of the St. Francois County Sheriff’s Department said Wilson has felony theft warrants outstanding on unrelated cases and he is also a suspect in additional cases.

The St. Louis Post Dispatch reported that a 24-year-old real estate agent was sexually assaulted in a home she was showing early Sunday evening.

The suspect handcuffed her to a pole and sexually assaulted her, at one point putting a knife to her throat, according to police.

Afterward, he robbed her and warned her not to scream for help, police said, before leaving her alone in the new home she thought he wanted to buy in the 700 block of Southbrook Forest Court in Weldon Spring.

Police have labeled Wilson as a person of interest in the case and are looking for him. The man police believe to be the attacker filled out an information card and on Saturday, looked at several houses with the agent, police said. He called back late Saturday, saying he wanted a second look at the Weldon Spring home and the two arranged to meet again about 5 p.m. Sunday. The home is listed at $469,900.

When the woman didn’t come home on time, her husband became concerned. He and several co-workers searched for her car at homes she had listed for sale. When they found her car, they called police.

Police said the woman did not suffer serious physical injuries in the attack.

Police urge anyone who sees Wilson or his car to call 911. He is white, has a mustache, is 5 feet 11 and weighs about 190 pounds.
