June A. Corben
FARMINGTON – June Arnold Corben of Farmington, MO passed away on Saturday, March 10, 2007, at Mineral Area Regional Medical Center at the age of 92 years. He was born on September 25, 1914, in Steffenville, MO, the son of the late Seth and Selna (Walker) Corben. He was also preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters.
Mr. Corben was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy. He retired with over 42 years of service in both the U.S. Navy and the Naval Reserve. He worked all his life for the federal government, retiring in 1977 as the head of Management Information Systems Operations at Fort Leonard Wood. He was a 50 year plus member and past Master of the Masonic Lodge and a current member of Farmington Lodge 132 A.F. & A.M., a member and past Patron of the Order of the Eastern Star of Muskogee, Oklahoma, and a member of the Bedouin Shrine of Oklahoma. He is a member of the First Christian Church of Rolla, MO. He enjoyed working in his flower beds and his neighbors will miss seeing him puttering in the yard.
He is survived by his wife, Frances (McKay) Corben, two daughters, Dena Walker of Rolla, MO and Lynn (Dale) Crites of Farmington, six grandchildren, Elizabeth Standfast, Mark Allsman, and Jackie Asberry all of Rolla, MO and Bill (Rachel) Walker of Kirkwood, MO, Jeff (Crissy) Crites and Jason (Erin) Crites, both of Farmington, twelve great-grandchildren, and three great great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister, Ila Brocksmith of Quincy, IL and a brother Robert Corben of Lewistown, MO, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A Masonic Service will be held at the Cozean Memorial Chapel at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 14, 2007. A memorial service will follow, with Rev. Rocky Good officiating.
