Madison County Commission Minutes
On March 12, 2007, The Honorable County Commission of Madison County met pursuant to adjournment with the following officers present; John Rauls, Presiding Commissioner, Terry Hovis, Second District Commissioner and Don Firebaugh, Clerk of the County Commission. First District Commissioner, Dennis Bradford was absent due to illness.
The meeting was called to order by John Rauls, Presiding Commissioner at 9:06 AM.
The following business was transacted:
A motion was made by Commissioner Hovis to approve the agenda. Motion carried by vote; Commissioner Hovis (yes) and Presiding Commissioner Rauls (yes).
Minutes from the Commissioner’s meeting on March 5, 2007 was read by Clerk Don Firebaugh. Commissioner Hovis made a motion and seconded Presiding Commissioner Rauls to accept the minutes as presented. Motion carried by vote; Commissioner Hovis (yes), and Presiding Commissioner Rauls (yes).
Under new business, Mr. Paul Hale, Sr. was present to ask for some gravel on Road 427. After a short discussion, the Commissioners agreed to research his request and make a decision.
Mr. Bill Starkey, Director of 911 reminded the Commissioners that a Table Top Emergency Preparedness exercise will be held on Wednesday, March 14, 2007 at the Fire Station in Fredericktown beginning at 9:00 A.M.
Sheriff David Lewis reported on Madison County Law Enforcement, presented monthly bills and receipts for reviewing and presented them to the County Clerk for payment and recording.
Mr. Gregg Pruett, Madison County Road and Bridge Supervisor presented the past weeks work agenda, roads repaired, bills for approval, and operational conditions of equipment. He stated that his department had completed the slab hauling project on Highway 67 south of Fredericktown. He also reported that county roads 217, 208, and 250 were being patched.
Second District Commissioner Terry Hovis reported that he had calls from residents living on roads 241, 304, and 310 that needed graded. Residents had requested white rock be put on a section of road 314. He also had looked at areas on roads 221, 232 and 309 for possible repair work.
Presiding Commission Rauls said he had attended the MCCDD meeting the past Thursday, March 8, 2007 and planned to attend the Table Top Exercise on March 14, 2007. Commissioner Rauls and family also cleaned out the gutters on the north side of the courthouse on Saturday, March 10, 2007.
No old business was discussed and bills were presented by the County Clerk for approval to be paid..
There was no further business discussed on March 12, 2007 and the meeting was adjourned until Monday, March 12, 2007.
