Road closure postponed

The Missouri Department of Transportation has postponed closure of Flat River Road for one week.

The road was to close for five days beginning at 7 p.m. Tuesday so work can begin on a new box culvert. Instead, the road will close May 14 for the construction (weather permitting) and is expected to reopen on May 19 with an aggregate surface.

The construction is part of the Fairgrounds Interchange project.

The road will close approximately three-quarters of a mile north of the Hunt Road intersection.

Signs and warning devices will be in place during the closure. Motorists are advised to use extreme caution in the area and use alternate routes.
