Gerald Amon Morris

PARK HILLS — Gerald Amon Morris of Caledonia, Mo. departed this life at his residence on May 21, 2007, having reached the age of 83 years and 15 days. He was born on May 5,1924, at Cahoka, Mo., a son of the late Alfred and Viola (Rath) Morris. Gerald was united in marriage to Ellen DeGonia on February 11, 1950, in St. Louis, Mo.

Gerald is survived by: His loving wife Ellen Morris of Caledonia; one daughter, Tammie Morris of the home; one son, Gerald Morris and wife Deanna of Caledonia; three grandsons: Preston, Garrett and Braydyn. Gerald is also survived by three sisters-in-law: Elaine Madsen and husband Warren of Caledonia, Eleanor DeGonia of High Ridge, Mo., and Norma DeGonia of St. Ann, Mo.; and one brother-in-law, Perry DeGonia of Doe Run, Mo. Gerald also leaves behind a host of other friends and relatives who will sadly miss him.

Gerald was preceded In death by: His parents, AIfred and Viola Morris, and his in-laws, Arlice and Beatrice (Herscher ) DeGonia, and one niece, Stephanie Madsen.

Gerald was a member of the Masonic Tyro Lodge of Caledonia, Mo., for 35 years. He was a Veteran of World War II, and he was a member of the Eastern Star for 32 years. He was a member of the VFW Post #6947.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 2, 2007, at 2 p.m., at the Bellevue Presbyterian Church in Caledonia, Mo. Memorials may be made to Hospice Care, Inc., of Park Hills or to the American Cancer Society. Coplin Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
