Letter to the Editor

I was looking in the Democrat News today (June 20th) and noticed the Relay For Life advertisement.

I felt real sad not to see my wife “Tracy Lynne Morgan” in there. That is because I lost my angel on May 28, 2007 to colorectal cancer. We tried and tried to make the survivors list, but Tracy instead was a non-survivor. It saddened me not to at least see her name somewhere in that article.

You see, Tracy had been battling her cancer since May of 2005. Tracy and I ( husband and caregiver) would make her chemo trips always thinking positive. We were married for 29 years. The many trips home from chemo were with Tracy vomiting and stopping at the gas stations along the way home to use the restrooms because she was so sick.

The last couple of months at home while she was on hospice and watching Tracy fading away and finally dying in my arms.

Oh how I hope there is a heaven for that is where Tracy is. And I can’t wait to join her.
