Ethel Porter

FARMINGTON — Ethel Mae Porter passed on to her heavenly rest on Sunday, July 1, 2007, at Parkland Health Center, at the age of 75 years. She was born on November 4, 1931, in St. Francois County, the daughter of the late John F. and Ethie Mable (Sanders) Porter. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Carl Porter.

Miss Porter was an active member of the Knob Lick Church of God. Her life was her church, and if there were any activities at church, you could count on her to be involved. In her spare time, she enjoyed doing crafts. Before her retirement, she had been employed for 42 years at Trimfoot Shoe Company.

She is survived by a brother, Arthur Porter and wife Mildred of Fredericktown, four nephews, Mike Porter of Davenport, lA, Ivan Porter of Knob Lick, Tracy Porter of the State of Michigan, and David Porter, three nieces, Denise Wheeler of Fredericktown, Cheryl Porter and Kathy Corwin, both of Davenport, IA. Numerous other friends and other relatives also survive.

Friends may call at Cozean Memorial Chapel from 4:30 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, July 8, 2007. Visitation will resume at 7:30 a.m. on Monday. A funeral service will follow at the Cozean Chapel at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Donn Adamson officiating. Memorials may be directed to the Family.
