Barbara (Welker) Reese

FARMINGTON — Barbara Marie (Welker) Reese, age 69, of Farmington passed away July 2, 2007 at Des Peres Hospital. Barbara was born on September 29, 1937 in Wortham, MO to the late Theodore “Red” and Charlotte (Cash) Welker. In addition to her parents, a brother, Theodore “Jim” Welker, Jr. and infant twin brothers, Larry and Jerry, also precede her in death. She was a member of the Gumbo First Church of God.

Surviving are her son, Sam and daughter-in-law, Melody Reese of Desloge, and three loving grandsons who were her world: Austin, Ryan and Collin; and special niece and caregiver, Tammy Goforth of the home. She is also survived by brother and sister-in-law,, Cecil and Alma Welker of Farmington, and sister-in-law, Betty Welker of Park Hills; as well as nieces, Kimberlee Welker and Mary Fortner and nephews, Dan Welker and Terry Welker. Also surviving is her long-time companion and dear friend, Jim Counts of Park Hills, who is a loving Dad to her son. Barbara is also survived by many great-nieces and nephews, including Jamie, Zoey and Kara. Uncles, Cousins and many other relatives, friends and acquaintances also survive. Barb will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be at the Horton-Wampler Funeral Home on Thursday, July 5 after 6 p.m. and Friday, July 6 after 9 a.m. Funeral Services for Barbara will be Friday, July 6 at 1 p.m. at the Horton-Wampler Funeral Chapel with Rev. Cleo Counts officiating, assisted by Rev. Davey Welker. Burial will follow at the Adams Cemetery, Frankclay, MO.
