Bantam League schedule winding down

BISMARCK — Noah Rodenberg struck out 12 batters over five strong innings and also hit for the cycle on Thursday night, as the Desloge Browns rolled to a 16-2 road win over the Bismarck Stars.

Drew Burns had three hits with a double and triple, and Nate Reynolds ripped two triples plus a single for the Browns (5-11). Cory Jones helped the offensive attack with a home run, while Dylan Burns, Jacob Roland and Gage Ridlon added two hits apiece.

Caleb King, Pierce McGeorge and Christian Knowles each had hits for the Stars.

Rattlers 8, Wolves 7

PARK HILLS — The Farmington Rattlers scored seven runs in the third inning, then survived some anxious moments down the stretch for an 8-7 win over the Park Hills Wolves.

Evan Voyles struck out seven batters and allowed no hits over three innings for the win. Trevor Halloway collected an RBI single, and Kyle Hatch added a hit for the Rattlers (4-9-1).

Jacob Jones had the lone single for the Wolves, who used several walks to mount a late rally.

Outlaws 6, Bombers 3

BONNE TERRE — The Farmington Outlaws received an excellent battle from the Bonne Terre Bombers on Thursday before breaking through with three runs in the fifth inning for a 6-3 triumph.

Brandon Winder earned the win in relief after pitching the fourth inning, and Logan Winder picked up the save with two strikeouts in the fifth. Outlaws starter Larry Landers struck out seven over three frames.

Logan Winder had three hits with a home run and double, while Lance Johnson tripled, and Garret Thomure matched Brandon Winder with doubles. Tanner Grimes and Ben Sitzes added singles for the Outlaws (14-2).

Brett Hubbard and Nick Avila singled for the Bombers, and McKenzy Bryan finished with a team-high two hits, including a triple. Hubbard struck out eight on the mound.

Gators 11, Titans 9

LEADWOOD — The Park Hills Gators improved to 11-4 on the Bantam League season on Thursday by winning an 11-9 slugfest over the Leadwood Titans.

Jason Asher struck out six over three innings for the win, and Brennan White picked up the save with four strikeouts. White paced the Gators at the plate by finishing 3-for-3, and Nick Haney went 2-for-2 with a home run. Ethan McFadden picked up two singles and Grant Koller added one.

Blake Barlow lined a double for the Titans, who received singles from Noah Vinson and Matthew Momot.

Rockets 15, Sharks 8

LEADWOOD — An explosive offensive performance gave the Park Hills Rockets a 15-8 victory over the Leadwood Sharks on Thursday night.

Jake Bridges went 3-for-3 with two homers and seven RBI, including a grand slam, and Drew Harlow finished 4-for-4 with a home run and five RBI. Brandon Wagner was also a perfect 3-for-3, and Justin Halter added two hits.

Conner Proffer recorded six strikeouts over three innings for the win. Parker Forshee was 3-for-3 to lead the Sharks, while Devon Montgomery and Brandon King had one hit apiece.

Clippers 2, Vipers 0

BONNE TERRE — Hayden Helvey struck out 14 batters and pitched a no-hitter for the Arcadia Valley Clippers in a narrow, 2-0 victory over the Bonne Terre Vipers on Thursday.

Helvey also had a triple and single in the contest, and Takota Jones added a RBI single in the second inning. The Clippers (8-8) picked up additional hits from Dustin Mounce, Cameron Tripp, Tanner Jones and Isaiah Gibbs.

JUNIOR LEGION

Warriors 8, Festus 6

BONNE TERRE — Derek Gibson pitched five strong innings to lead the Bonne Terre Warriors past the Festus junior American Legion squad, 8-6 on Thursday night.

Gibson allowed just one hit while striking out seven, and also stroked a double and single at the plate for the Warriors (14-4), who grabbed an early lead with four runs in the first inning.

Matt Robinson, Jordan Thompson and Tyler Stacy also picked up singles during the contest. The Warriors will host district-rival Ste. Genevieve at 6 p.m. on Sunday.
