Lowell Eugene Hayes

Lowell Eugene Hayes, 78, of Sturgis, Kentucky (formerly of Fredericktown, Missouri) died July 6, 2007 in Evansville, Indiana.

He was born January 15, 1929 in Oates, Missouri, a son of Clinton and Flossie Hayes.

On October 15, 1949 he was united in marriage to Wanda         (Tucker) of Womack. She preceded him in death on May 18, 1994.

Mr. Hayes was also preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Dalena Wisdom and Eileen May.

He is survived by three children, Eugene, Eddie and Marcia all of Kentucky; four brothers, Willard Hayes of Sturgis, Wilburn Hayes of Farmington, Missouri, Tommy Hayes of Leadington, Missouri, and Bobby Hayes of Imperial, Missouri; and three sisters, Roberta Smith, Betty Huffman, and Flossie Pogue all of Fredericktown.

Mr. Hayes had nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Services were held July 8, 2007 at Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Sturgis, Kentucky with Brother Joe Farmer and the Reverend John Shirley officiating. Burial was at Phythian Ridge Cemetery in Sturgis.

Pallbearers were: Kevin Huffman, Glen Tucker, and Donald, Jerry, Clint and Wade Hayes.
