Karla Pettus

FARMINGTON — Karla Ann Pettus of Farmington passed away on Thursday, September 27, 2007, at her residence, at the age of 53 years. She was born October 17, 1953 at Steelville, daughter of the late Rhuel Whorton and Opal Pruett Whorton.

She is survived by her husband, Terry Lynn Pettus, one son, Darrin (Shannon) Pettus of Kirkwood, one daughter, Sarah Stotler of Farmington, two grandchildren, Tristan Stotler and Kylie Pettus, and three brothers, Tom (Joetta) Whorton, Bob (Karen) Whorton and Bill (Sue) Whorton. Nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends also survive.

She worked at both International Hat Company in Piedmont and Cap America in Fredericktown before becoming a founding partner of Midwest Embroidery Threads in Farmington.

Friends may call at Cozean Memorial Chapel from 5 to 9 p.m. on Monday, October 1, 2007. Visitation will resume at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday and funeral service will follow at the Cozean Chapel at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Knights of Pythias Cemetery in Farmington.
