Lester A. Chamberlain, Sr.
DOE RUN — Mr. Lester A. Chamberlain, Sr., 87, passed away October 4, 2007, at his Doe Run residence. Les was born on June 15, 1920, in Knob Lick, Missouri, to Henry and Mary ‘Hurst’ Chamberlain. Also preceding were Three Brothers: Harold; Firman and Milton Chamberlain; One Granddaughter and Two Great-Grandchildren.
Les was a US Army Veteran of World War II. Les was a retired Miner from the Pilot Knob Pellet Company and he attended the Emmanuel Baptist Church of Doe Run.
Survivors Include: his wife, Wanda Pauline ‘O’Farrell’ Chamberlain, of Doe Run; Five Children: George (and Melanie) Runyon, of Ste. Genevieve; Michael Dean (and Donna) Runyon, of Lebanon, Missouri; Goldie Kay (Mrs. Jim) Malarkey, of Fayetteville, North Carolina; Juanita Chamberlain, of Doe Run and Lester A. (Zeke) Chamberlain, Jr., of Doe Run. Two Brothers: Jesse (and Helen) Chamberlain, of Doe Run; Walter “Bill” (and Alice) Chamberlain, of Arizona. Two Sisters: Dorothy Kapeller, of St. Louis, Missouri, and Elma (Mrs. Edward) Gierczuk, of Florissant, Missouri. Also, 12 Grandchildren and several Great-Grandchildren.
Visitation Sunday, 5-8 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Service, Inc., Farmington. Visitation resumes Monday, 7 a.m. and funeral Monday, 1 p.m., October 8, 2007, at Taylor Funeral Service Chapel, with Rev. Brian Jackson and Rev. Jay Lacey officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow at Doe Run Memorial Cemetery. Memorials may be made to HospiceCare, Inc.
