Potosi is hosting the 5th annual Bi-State

Potosi is hosting the 5th annual Bi-State Marching Invitational today, and 26 of the finest high school bands in Missouri, Illinois and Arkansas are scheduled to appear.

Potosi Marching Band will lead the parade at 8:25 a.m. in exhibition during the parade competition. The parade starts at the corner of Lawrence and High street and ends at the corner of South Mine and High.

Field Show contest preliminaries begin at 11 a.m. at the Potosi High School Football Stadium. Twenty-one bands are to compete in that. Later, the finals contest will feature the top eight to 10 bands of the day. Awards will be given at 9 p.m. after an exhibition performance of the Potosi Trojan Marching Band.

Admission to the field show is $4 for adults and $2 for children or senior citizens. Programs are available at the front admission gate for $1.

Concessions will be available including pulled pork, brats, hamburgers and more.
