Robert Earl Kimmich

Robert Earl Kimmich, 93, of Fredericktown died October 19, 2007 at Stockhoff Memorial Nursing Home in Fredericktown.

He was born February 1, 1914 at Cape Girardeau, the son of Robert and Ethel (Abernathy) Kimmich.

Mr. Kimmich was preceded in death by his parents; his son Robert Thomas Kimmich Sr.; one brother, Richard Kimmich; and one sister, Rosemary Krueger.

He is survived by his wife Juanita Kimmich of Fredericktown; one brother, William H. Kimmich ;one grandson; and two great-granddaughters.

Mr. Kimmich married Juanita (Rehkop) on July 25, 1937. They celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary together on July 25, 2007.

He was in the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) Camp in the mid-thirties; stationed at Camp Streamboat in Oregon. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II.

Mr. Kimmich had been a police officer and fire fighter in St. Louis County until he went to work for the Missouri Department of Transportation where he retired from in 1981 after 15 years.

In October, 1945 he became a Mason in Napthali Lodge #25 and transferred his membership to the Marcus Lodge #110 in Fredericktown in 1994.

Services were held October 22, 2007 at Follis and Sons Chapel with Pastor Jerry Hawkins officiating. Burial was at Marcus Memorial Park Cemetery in Fredericktown.

Pallbearers were: Gary Budwell, Buddy Michel, Jim Henson, Bobby Kimmich, Darrell Rehkop and Richard Putney.
