Accident sends teen to hospital

A one-vehicle accident Wednesday on Route BB in St. Francois County sent a Bismarck teenager to the hospital.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a vehicle driven by Robin Eichenberger, 16, Bismarck, was traveling too fast for the conditions and crossed the center line and went off the left side of the roadway. Eichenberger overcorrected to the right, traveled off the right side of the road before the vehicle overturned.

Eichenberger suffered moderate injuries and was taken to Parkland Health Center by St. Francois County Ambulance.

An unrelated accident involving a 1985 Yamaha Wednesday on Route O resulted in moderate injuries for a Park Hills man.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a Yamaha ridden by Kevin Degrant, 44, Park Hills, was traveling at a high rate of speed when it failed to negotiate a left curve. The Yamaha went off the right side of the road, struck a ditch and overturned. Degrant was ejected.

Degrant suffered moderate injuries and was taken to Mineral Area Regional Medical Center by St. Francois County Ambulance.
