The following is a listing of events taking place in the Farmington R-7 School District.
• Thursday, February 7, third grade students at Washington-Franklin will be celebrating the Chinese New Year with various activities.
• Friday, February 8, the Farmington R-7 Schools will dismiss at 12:00 for teacher professional development and benchmark grading.
• Friday, February 8, Jefferson Elementary will have an all school assembly to celebrate good behavior and effort for the month of January. The assembly will include a Karate demonstration by Master Ceth Jordan of Farmington Martial Arts.
• Tuesday, February 12, Jefferson Elementary will have spring pictures taken by Lifetouch. No money is required.
• Wednesday, February 13, Truman Kindergarten will have spring pictures.
• Friday, February 15, the Farmington R-7 Schools will dismiss at 12:00 for teacher professional development and benchmark grading.
• Monday, February 18, the Farmington R-7 Schools will not be in session in observance of President’s Day.
• Tuesday, February 19, Truman PTG will have their monthly meeting at 6:30 pm.
• Tuesday, February 19, the monthly board of education meeting will be held at 6:00 PM at the school board building.
• Tuesday, February 26, students at Truman Kindergarten will watch the Billy Goat Gruff play performed by a traveling theatrical group.
• Monday, March 3 through Thursday, March 6, The Farmington R-7 School District will hold registration for next year’s kindergarten class. Hours of registration will be from 8:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. To be eligible for kindergarten a child must be five years old before August 1, 2008. • Saturday, March 15, the Washington-Franklin Elementary PTG will be hosting the 6th annual trivia night event. Doors open at 6:15 and the game begins at 7:00. Cost is $10 per person with 8 person teams. Call 701-1350 to reserve your spot. There will also be a silent auction for baskets of goodies and door prizes. Cash prizes awarded to first, second and third place teams in the amounts of $100, $75 and $50.
