Fredericktown man faces 10 years for sex with minor
A Fredericktown man could be sentenced to as many as 10 years in prison for having sex with a minor.
On Friday, Jacob Francis, 22, pleaded guilty to first-degree statutory rape. He admitted to having sexual intercourse with a child less than 14 years old.
His public defender, Sam Moore, asked for a Sentence Assessment Report so that Probation and Parole could screen Francis for the Sex Offender Assessment Unit. Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Pat King said he would be recommending 10 years in prison.
Francis is scheduled to be sentenced on April 18 before Circuit Court Judge Kenneth W. Pratte.
In another case, Richard Militzer, 41, of Desloge, pleaded guilty to attempted manufacture of meth. His attorney, Kathleen Aubuchon, asked for a Sentence Assessment Report so that Probation and Parole could screen for a long-term drug treatment program.
King said he would not oppose a long-term drug treatment program if that was what Probation and Parole recommended.
Militzer is scheduled to be sentenced on April 18. The sentence he receives will run concurrent to the sentence he is currently serving.
During the plea hearing, Militzer told the judge he went with others to purchase ingredients to make meth and they were attempting to make it when police caught them on June 29, 2006.
